Bacl InfoFormed 1997 by Mr.Ranbir Suri and other prominent British Asian Conservatives the British Asian Conservative Link (BACL) was created to act as a conduit between the Asian community and the Conservative party in representing its concerns and aspirations. Today the BACL is widely recognised as the largest and most influential Asian Conservative organisation with a diverse membership and national reach.

The BACL mission is to increase political awareness among the Asian community and to offer the Conservative Party support and advice in engaging with Asian voters, through consultation and policy projects.

We believe the Asian culture, as a way of life, goes hand in hand with the doctrine of conservatism and the economical contribution made by the Asian community is remarkable. However, politically, the Asian community is largely underrepresented. The BACL recognises the need for greater political participation and it aims to support to prospective parliament candidates (PPC) to parliamentary post as well as other political roles.

The current changes seen in the Conservative Party demonstrate that it is an inclusive Party, which respects and appreciates the value of all. The Conservative Party under the leadership of Rt. Hon David Cameron MP has embarked to achieve those objectives, which will lead them to form the next government.

BACL Key Objectives are

  • To offer the Conservative Party support and advice in their drive to engage with Asian voters, through campaigns and policy projects.
  • To support individual PPCs and council candidates, irrespective of their ethnic origin, to win votes from Asian constituents.
  • To offer advice and support Asian members who are embarking on the Party’s council or parliamentary selection process.
  • To encourage greater participation amongst the Asian community in their local Conservative Party, and Council governance as: local activists, local association officers and school governors.
