British Asian Community gives a rousing reception to the Conservative Party Leader, the Rt. Hon. Michael Howard MP, Leader of the Opposition at the Brent Town Hall, Wembley on 9th Sept. 2004.

The reception was hosted by the British Asian Conservative Link which aims to bring Asian to the Tory fold a so called Party of their natural values. Over 1200 people attended the reception, the biggest by far given to any political leader by the British Asian Community anywhere in Britain.

It was attended by many Tory MPs. The Tory leader was accompanied by his wife Mrs, Sandra Howard. The crowd received them both with great warmth and pledged their support.

Mr Howard was welcomed by the Chairman of the British Asian Conservative Link, Mr Ranbir Suri, who praised Mr Howard who as a Home Secretary reduced crime in Britain with his tough approach. He assured Mr Howard of full support from British Asian Conservatives and would work for his victory at the next election.

The General Secretary, Mr. Rami Ranger, said that it is time for a change and to see the back of socialism which was being introduced through stealth taxes. He said that Mr Howard is the right person to lead the country out the difficulties brought about by the Labour Government.

Mr Howard thanked the British Asian Conservative Link and pledged to reduce crime and taxes, a hall mark of Tory Government when elected. He assured the guests that he will do everything to connect with every community in Britain to make the Party stronger and Britain richer. Under his leadership the party will mirror society as a whole.

The guests were entertained by Bollywood dances and a buffet dinner followed. In all a night to remember.
